Kia has announced that the second generation of the Seltos will arrive in 2027, with increased size and a more “electric car” look.
The new generation of Kia’s subcompact SUV will be available in several trims, such as: EX, LX, SX, X-Line and GT-Line. On the exterior, highlights include the expansive grille, lighting elements, and taillights connected by a light bar at the rear.
From the side, we can see that the rear spoiler is integrated into the roofline, the wheels receive cladding on the arches, and the flared fenders help highlight its wider body.

In terms of dimensions, the new Seltos is slightly larger than its predecessor. It now measures 4,429 mm in length (compared to 4,384 mm on the previous model), and its wheelbase has been stretched from 2,628 mm to 2,689 mm.
When it comes to powertrains, it offers some familiar options. One of them is a standard 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 147 hp paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT).
There is also a 1.6-liter turbo four that produces 178 or 190 horsepower. The former is available with a six-speed manual transmission in certain markets, while others are expected to receive the more powerful version with an eight-speed automatic.

Kia has also announced plans for a new hybrid powertrain for the 2027 Seltos but has not yet released specific details. It is worth emphasizing that the new Seltos will use Kia’s new K3 platform, which should give the SUV’s structure a bit more rigidity.
Inside, the new Seltos features Kia’s well-known 30-inch dashboard-mounted display, which combines two 12.3-inch screens with a five-inch central screen that provides access to climate controls and compatibility with AI assistants such as ChatGPT.

As in other Kia models, the driver’s seat can transform into a reclining lounge chair, complete with a footrest, while rear-seat passengers will be able to enjoy backrests that recline up to 12 degrees.
The 2027 Kia Seltos will be sold globally and is expected to arrive at dealerships next year. While the Korean manufacturer has not yet released pricing, Car and Driver has speculated that the base version should cost around US$27,000, while the most expensive version could reach US$33,000.
